After moving from Naples to Leeds in 2016 to study for a PHD in architecture, Marinella Contestabile quickly built a place for herself in the UK electronic music scene. Within her first week, she bumped into Slowcook whom she has since teamed up with as part of the Equaliser collective to provide “monthly, free-to-access DJ workshops for women, non-binary and trans people”.

Following several gigs in the north and beyond, she was picked up by Bobby Pleasure to become a resident of his Pleasure Club in London where she has played her slick brand of techno and minimal to dancefloors at fabric and The Lion & Lamb. This summer she will play Houghton Festival for the first time.

This mix represents a distinctly dark turn for Mariiin, full of introspective breakbeats, ice-cold electro and a dash of trance. Ciao!
